Bem Brasileiro ( lit Port. “very brazilian”) was formed in 1998, when Monica Ribeiro arrived in England from Rio de Janeiro, where she enjoyed a professional career both in Brazil and on cruise liners in the Caribbean. Here she met and joined with Mark, who has an extensive knowledge and understanding of Brazilian music and styles, having studied guitar both in the UK and Brazil.
Together they specialise in bringing the wide variety that is the music of Brazil to life. The repertoire is sung in close harmonies in Portuguese and English, and ranges from the classic bossa novas made famous by Tom Jobim, to the modern sounds of Bebel Gilberto and Djavan, a selection that varies from lilting ballads to rhythmic brazilian dance.
Bem Brasileiro is perfect for occasions where providing something a little different and creating the right atmosphere is essential, either involving an enthusiastic audience, offering a relaxed, intimate cabaret or setting the right mood with background material.
They have appeared at restaurants, hotels, weddings, corporate events and private functions and are able to adapt their approach to most situations and settings. If you are looking for a larger band then please click HERE.
